The State of Hunger in Armenia

Malnutrition runs rampant throughout Armenia, especially in rural areas. Hunger is caused primarily by the war in Ukraine, rising food prices, increased political instability and conflict, and gender inequality. The conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh has forced 90,000 people to flee to Armenia, putting stress on an already fragile economy.

How We're Helping in Armenia

Our teams work to protect families impacted by conflict from harm. We partner with local organizations to provide protection services to more than 3,000 children and their caregivers, as well as education on unexploded devices to over 12,000 people.

Action Against Hunger teaches people entrepreneurship and vocational skills and connects them with employers. We support with those displaced by conflict with health services, clean water, and affordable living spaces.
