Lishe Imara is a 30-month project funded by Comic Relief USA and focuses on addressing the challenges of malnutrition and maternal health.  This project aims to improve maternal and child nutrition for over 200,000 children and 79,000 adolescents in Dodoma (Mpwapwa DC) and Singida (Itigi DC, Iramba DC, Mkalama DC) regions  by utilizing proven interventions to promote quality health and nutrition services. The project started in January 2020 and expected to end in June 2022.

The Project’s outcomes:

  • O1: Improve quality of reproductive and child health (RCH) and nutrition services for adolescent mothers, children, and fathers
  • O2: Increase uptake of RCH and nutrition services
  • O3: Improve behaviors and practices around hygiene and sanitation
  • O4: Strengthen RCH policies and plans, and ensure integration of adolescent mothers into these policies

The opportunity:

AAH USA is seeking a consultant with deep expertise on climate change and hunger to edit and design the Action Against Hunger Environment and Climate Network Framework (Framework).

The consultant will also undertake an assessment of AAH USA operations and programming as they relate to the USAID Climate Strategy (2022-2030 (https://www.usaid.gov/climate/strategy). The assessment will help AAH USA answer the following questions:

- How can AAH USA incorporate the Framework in its operations?

- What investments are necessary for Framework implementation?

- How do we measure the level of progress of those commitments?

- How do we continually evaluate the inclusion of climate change intervention in our efforts to end hunger?

- Can AAH USA also measure its progress against the USAID Climate Strategy commitments?

We anticipate this work will require no more than 5 weeks. The consultant is asked to propose the earliest start date as possible.

ACF is actively engaged in relevant coordination and advocacy forums. Our advocacy efforts help to improve the availability of lifesaving therapeutic products in Mkalama, Itigi, Iramba, Singida, Mpwapwa and Dodoma. ACF, seeks to invite interested and eligible organizations to submit applications for the prequalification of suppliers for supply of goods, services and works for the period 2021/2023 for the following categories.

However, in the areas where ACF operates, the refugee and host communities experience signifi cantly higher rates of undernutrition.
