In Pakistan, a Young Hygiene Hero Celebrates Global Handwashing Day

Eleven-year-old Benazir* shouted enthusiastically from the stage where she stood, “Choose handwashing, choose health!” More than 400 students from five different schools had come together to celebrate Global Handwashing Day in K.N. Shah Town in Dadu District, Sindh Province, Pakistan, and she wanted to show them that a simple act can have a big impact—by washing their hands with soap and clean water, they can help create a healthy and bright future.
