Our Impact in 2012

In this season of holiday cheer, I’m happy to report that your support has helped millions of people this year. We’ve reached more than 7 million individuals in 40+ countries with lifesaving, life-changing interventions and we absolutely, unequivocally couldn’t have done that without you.

Here is just a snapshot of some of your money at work:

This manual was prepared to facilitate boreholes sustainability. It is deisgned as an elementary guide for hand pump technicians that are involved in the major and minor repairs of hand pumps in a community, specifically the India Mark II.

Karamoja Productive Asset Program (KPAP): Small Earth Dam Technical Assessment Report

This report is a technical evaluation of small earth dams in Karamoja. It reviews the general observations and criticisms of the dams in the program.

Biosand and ceramic filters training manual

A training manual for the justifications, benefits, and guide to using biosand and ceramic filters.

Case Study: CLTS Open Defecation Free (ODF) Declaration Celebration in Tetugu: Otuke District, Uganda

CLTS (community-led total sanitation) encourages community self-analysis of existing defecation patterns and threats, and promotes local solutions to reduce and ultimately eliminate the practice of open defecation. After initiatives from ACF to implement this approach onto Tetugu village, an external monitoring team visited Tetugu on an Open Defecaton Free (ODF) assessment and reported that 100% of HHs now had latrines.

Karamoja Water Harvesting Field Guide

This is a field guide detailing various water harvesting methods for the purpose of irrigation, livestock, and general water stocking for non-potable water use in the semi-arid Karamoja region.
