Each year during the Lose for Good campaign, as members lose weight, Weight Watchers donates money to help fight hunger nationally through Share Our Strength and internationally through Action Against Hunger. To date, campaign donations to benefit Action Against Hunger have topped $1.5 million.

Weight Watchers Lose for Good Campaign Reaches Million Dollar Goal

Weight Watchers® announced last week that it will donate $1 million  to Action Against Hunger and Share Our Strength® through its fifth annual Lose For Good® campaign. Each year, the Lose For Good campaign invites Weight Watchers members and Weight Watchers Online subscribers to lose weight, and donates up to $1 million to Action Against Hunger and Share Our Strength.

Hudson helped unveil Weight Watchers’ fourth annual Lose For Good campaign, which is aimed at helping to fight obesity and hunger in children to benefit Share Our Strength and Action Against Hunger. The 30-year-old knockout’s voice is featured in a public service announcement where she drives home the hunger problem that exists around the globe.

Corporate Philanthropy Breakfast at the Financial Times

On Wednesday June 22, Action Against Hunger is hosting a breakfast presentation at the Financial Times’ New York office. Moderated by the FT’s US LEX Editor, Stuart Kirk, the program will explore inventive approaches to corporate philanthropy and spotlight three of ACF’s unique partnerships: Tyco International, Weight Watchers and Global X Funds.

Financial Times Seasonal Appeal Raises $1.6 Million for ACF

NEW YORK, NY—The Financial Times Seasonal Appeal in partnership with Action Against Hunger | ACF International raised a total of $1,639,185 for the global humanitarian organization’s life-saving programs around the world.

“We are delighted that the appeal has raised so much. With recession and rising food prices contributing to further hardship for vulnerable people, the ACF cause is urgent and timely,” said Lionel Barber, editor of the Financial Times. “Thank you to readers, to fund-matching donors and to others who have given so generously.”

Children join fight against hunger, obesity

"The gardens are part of a national campaign called Lose for Good that the two groups hope will inspire people to achieve healthy weight loss while helping others in need. The campaign, which runs through Oct. 23, kicked off locally Wednesday at Browns Mill. During the campaign, Weight Watchers will donate up to $1 million to two organizations that help feed children and families: Share Our Strength and Action Against Hunger."
