Just like the Statue of Liberty, Action Against Hunger got its beginnings in France. To this day, we're proud of our French heritage, and we're thrilled to partner with incredible French companies to put on events that honor our roots while raising money for our lifesaving work. 

FoodBall Chef Soccer Tournament

In 2007, Daniel Burns started this one-day soccer tournament, when he was the Pastry Chef at NoMA in Copenhagen, Denmark. This is the tournament's 4th consecutive year involving Copenhagen’s restaurants’ chefs and staff.

Turning Wine Into Water

London, UK—Culinary luminaries Heston Blumenthal, Angela Hartnett, Fergus Henderson and Herbert Berger are combining their formidable forces this October to host the celebrated Action Against Hunger Fine Wine Auction and Dinner 2009.

Fergus Henderson, Chef Patron of Michelin-starred St John, has gamely posed naked in a wine-filled bath at the luxury Sanctum Soho Hotel, to capture the event’s theme of ‘turning wine into water’; illustrating that all funds raised from the event will help Action Against Hunger fight hunger and malnutrition worldwide.

Executive Chef and Culinary Editor of The Gilded Fork, Mark C. Tafoya, features Action Against Hunger and the 2008 Restaurants Against Hunger Campaign on his podcast show, The ReMARKable Palate.

In this edition of The ReMARKable Palate, Chef Mark attends the official Restaurants Against Hunger launch on April 8, 2008 at the Longchamp, Soho store, where he employs his interviewing charm to learn about Action Against Hunger's life-saving programs around the world.


ACF Announces 2nd Annual "Restaurants Against Hunger"

American's best restaurants are joining forces to battle hunger around the world. On October 19, restaurants from some of America's culinary capitals - New York, Boston, Washington D.C., Chicago, Los Angeles and San Francisco - will donate 20 percent of their revenue to support the 2nd annual Restaurants Against Hunger program.
