The State of Hunger in Zimbabwe

Since its independence in 1980, Zimbabwe has experienced a tense political environment and an unstable economy. High rates of malnutrition, alarming rates of HIV/AIDS, cyclones, and frequent cholera outbreaks are huge humanitarian challenges. Zimbabwe faces poor harvests, high food prices, and food insecurity.
