Global Water Initiative Created in Response to World Water Crisis

New York, NY—A new partnership has been launched to address the declining state of the world’s fresh water supply and the lack of access to clean water services by the world’s poorest people. The Global Water Initiative (GWI) brings together a group of seven leading international NGOs, including Action Against Hunger | ACF International, CARE, Catholic Relief Services (CRS), The World Conservation Union (IUCN), International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED), Oxfam America and SOS Sahel – UK.

Airplane with More Than 20 Tons of Aid Reaches Niger

On Sunday, August 28, the international relief organization Action Against Hunger (ACF) sent an airplane from Barcelona to Niamey, capital of Niger, carrying more than 20 tons of humanitarian aid to deal with Niger's food crisis.

How 180,000 Nigeriens Will Escape Starvation

In response to the ongoing crisis in Niger, the international aid organization Action Against Hunger (ACF) has begun distributing 3,000 tons of food to 153,000 people. Action Against Hunger has also begun treating 27,000 malnourished children in the area, and plans to increase its response by opening additional centers to treat children suffering from severe malnutrition.
