Clinton Township Middle School Students Put their Hands Up for Hunger

Students from the Clinton Township Middle School of Hunterdon County, New Jersey, have joined forces with the global humanitarian organization Action Against Hunger to raise awareness and support for crises around the world. Having studied the crisis in Darfur, Sudan, the students contacted Action Against Hunger—an agency working in Sudan—and commited to joining their national Race Against Hunger event later this Spring.

The Student Nursing Organization (SNO) at the Northern Illinois University has had a strong history of commitment to leadership, fellowship and social and professional growth. This year, SNO has added philanthropy to their list of commitments, partnering with Action Against Hunger to apply their passion for medicine and health in the fight against global hunger and malnutrition.

CPT Gregory T. Dalessio Memorial Run

On June 23, thirty year old Capt. Gregory T. Dalessio of Cherry Hill, New Jersey was killed on his second tour of duty in Iraq. Capt. Dalessio was loved by those who knew him and is said to have shone a light on all of their lives. For a man adored by his siblings and community, a 5K memorial walk/run is scheduled in his honor for December 6 at St. Peter Celestine Church in Cherry Hill. Proceeds will be donated to the “U2 One Campaign” of which Action Against Hunger is a partner and recipient.

Couple Plan 1,500 Mile Trek from Italy to Spain to Fight Global Hunger

In May of next year, Scott Zielke of Chicago, IL and Ashley Green, a native of Knoxville, TN, will begin a journey through three European countries in an effort to generate awareness and funds for Action Against Hunger/ Action Contre la Faim (ACF). This dedicated couple will set off from Rome, traversing the Via Francigena and then the Camino De Santiago toward Santiago de Compostela, Spain covering over 1,500 miles along the way.

Cross-Country Inline Skater Reaches San Diego Destination

Twenty-one year old Jack Sisson recently completed an inline skating excursion across the country to promote Action Against Hunger’s life-saving programs, and to undertake a thrilling adventure. Setting off from Yorktown, VA on June 10th, Jack’s solo journey took him through 10 states and 5 sets of wheels, which had to be replaced when he wore through them.
