Students Taking Action
All students have the potential to make a difference in the fight to end world hunger. The most extreme form of hunger, severe acute malnutrition, a deadly condition if left untreated, afflicts an estimated 34 million children worldwide, and results in the loss of one million children under five every year. This loss of life is all the more tragic because severe acute malnutrition is predictable, preventable, and treatable! Whether you participate in the Race Against Hunger, host a fundraiser, or raise awareness in your community, school or on social media, the actions you take today make a difference to kids everywhere.
The Race Against Hunger is great for students to engage in a fun activity to learn about global hunger while also raising vital funds for Action Against Hunger’s lifesaving programs around the world. Whether you’re a student or a teacher, there’s plenty you can do to help put an end to global malnutrition.

Make your voice count. Severe Acute Malnutrition is a major public health problem, but given little attention despite 1 million child deaths linked directly to it. Share through your HALT Club, hosting an event, or spreading the word on social media how you and Action Against Hunger are making a difference in the fight to end world hunger.
