ACF Nutritional Surveys Uncover Concerns in South Sudan
Latest ACF studies unearth emergency levels of acute malnutrition
New York, NY —
Note that the situation in Kapoeta (Eastern Equatoria) and in Nyadin (Central Upper Nile) is of concern. Rates are above the emergency thresholds of 15%, and this after two years of relative security. Again, the reports and findings indicate that the cuases of malnutrition in southern Sudan are structural, and malnutrition should not be expected to wane with peace, should an agreement be finalized.
