"A generation of players grew up on Sid Meier's games: Pirates, Railroad Tycoon and particularly turn-based strategy series Civilization, which remains a going concern in 2014. Now Meier is the focus for the latest games deal from Humble Bundle, a company that specialises in choose-your-own-price deals for collections of PC and mobile games. The Humble Sid Meier Bundle launched two days ago on 4 February, and has already generated $1.7m of purchases. No surprise, given that the average payment of $8.73 buys the complete editions of Civilization III and IV, as well as two of Meier's Ace Patrol games, and Sid Meier's Railroads. More than 195,000 people have so far purchased the bundle, with anyone paying more than the average getting Civilization V and its Gods and Kings downloadable content (DLC) thrown in, while anyone paying more than $15 also gets the game's Brave New World (DLC). Humble Bundle estimates that if bought individually, the items in the bundle would usually cost around $144. As with its previous bundles, buyers can choose how whatever amount they pay is divided between the games' publisher 2K Games, charity Action Against Hunger, and a tip for Humble Bundle itself."
