Reddit user anonymously donates $11,000 worth of Dogecoins for World Water Day

An anonymous person on Reddit donated 14 million Dogecoins (the equivalent of $11,000) to a World Water Day fundraising campaign Saturday, marking the latest bit of social good associated with the cryptocurrency. Dogecoin is a cryptocurrency similar to Bitcoin that started out as a joke based on a popular meme. Dogecoin are typically exchanged as a form of tipping for digital content as well as for charitable efforts such as the World Water Day campaign. The Dogecoin community also previously raised $25,000 to help send the Jamaican bobsled team to the 2014 WinterOlympics in Sochi...All donations from the Dogecoin community’s efforts will go toward bringing clean water to Kenyans through Charity:Water partner Action Against Hunger."
