Fremont: Irvington High eyes global issue
"Irvington High School sophomores hope to raise up to $25,000 to combat global hunger with a charity race Saturday at Central Park in Fremont.
Administrators decided to maximize the school's service effort by pooling the entire sophomore class into a single project, instead of having students pick their own.
The result: A race run by Action Against Hunger, a global nonprofit that combats deadly malnutrition in more than 40 countries.
Students hope 500 people will take part in their Race Against Hunger. Registration begins at 9 a.m. and the race at 9:45 a.m."
