A World in which No Child Dies of Hunger? It's Now within Reach
It is really, truly possible to reach and treat every child in the world who is suffering from deadly malnutrition. Exciting, right?! A terrific new video lays out the great developments that the humanitarian sector has already made in reaching more kids with lifesaving therapeutic nutrition (from the revolutionary milk formulas of the early 1990s to the Ready-to-Use-Therapeutic-Foods we use widely today) and outlines clear steps for getting to a place where we ensure we can reach all of them.
The idea is to use sound research and evaluation to find out how many children don't have access to treatment and what the obstacles are. Collecting and sharing that information will allow us to increase our reach and impact - in other words, to save more lives.
Check out the great video below that tells this new story of hunger:
The video comes to us courtesy of the Coverage Monitoring Network, an inter-agency initiative to improve nutrition programs through the promotion of quality program evaluations, capacity building activities, and information sharing. The project is funded by the European Commission Directorate-General for Humanitarian Aid and Civil Protection (ECHO) and the Office of U.S. Foreign Disaster Assistance (OFDA) of USAID. The initiative is implemented by a consortium led by Action Against Hunger and including Save the Children, Concern Worldwide, International Medical Corps, Helen Keller International and Valid International.
Stay tuned as we provide real-time information on our expanding global reach and ensure greater access to lifesaving treatment for the millions of children in need.
Tell Us What You Think
Will you share this video with five of your friends? Do you think they'd believe you if you told them we could end hunger-related deaths for the first time in human history?
