Masterbuilt Turns Up the Heat for the Race Against Hunger
The Race Against Hunger – Action Against Hunger’s service learning initiative that unites middle and high school students in the fight against global hunger and malnutrition – is back! After taking a short breather for the summer, the Race is gearing up for a busy 2012-13 scholastic year with two upcoming events and an exciting new partnership with Masterbuilt.
Masterbuilt is a family-owned company. They are the makers of numerous products and technologies that have changed the face of the outdoor cooking market, including grills, smokers and most widely known, the Butterball Indoor Electric Turkey Fryer. The company’s president and CEO John McLemore is an impassioned believer that great home cooking not only serves as sustenance, but also as an opportunity to share good times and good food with family and friends. With regular national television appearances and two popular cookbooks (you can find information on both on his website, Dadgum, That’s Good!), McLemore has established himself as an authoritative and distinctive food personality.
As the Race Against Hunger expands from its established markets in New York City, Chicago, and San Francisco into the Southeastern U.S., Masterbuilt will be an ideal partner to educate America’s youth about global malnutrition while helping them develop healthy eating habits that will last a lifetime. As part of this collaboration, Masterbuilt will be hosting fun, nutritious barbeques – including interactive cooking demonstrations by John McLemore – at community-wide Race events.
“I’m looking forward to getting out there and meeting with America’s youth,” said McLemore. “This partnership with Action Against Hunger is all about bringing awareness to the fight against global malnutrition and showing kids right here in the U.S. how lucky they are to have what they have. I want them to leave our events having experienced a life-changing lesson about sharing the goodness and helping others.”
For more than 30 years, Masterbuilt’s passion has been to design quality outdoor cooking equipment that is simple to use. From the first propane fish cooker to the user-friendly Butterball Indoor Electric Turkey Fryer, seafood boiler and steamer, the company offers a complete line of outdoor and indoor cooking products designed with the consumer in mind. Masterbuilt's standard of excellence is to design the most innovative products in the industry and markets it serves. Masterbuilt aims to create a work environment that is conducive to developing long-term employees who are motivated and dedicated to providing quality merchandise at a fair market value. Masterbuilt considers the customer its greatest asset and its commitment is to always provide friendly, caring service.
