Boys Cross Country Team Raises $2,300 to Fight Global Hunger
Official charity press release:
The Libertyville High School Boys Cross Country Team from Libertyville, Illinois, raised $2300.00 for Action Against Hunger. In August of 2008, the team of 100 runners gathered after practice and diligently addressed and sealed envelopes, sending a direct mailing to friends and family members asking for donations to the team charity and team. Following a team tradition, the members elected to donate half of their proceeds to charity, with the other half being used for team funding, and voted to donate to Action Against Hunger this year. The team was empowered by the ability to actively contribute to eradicating hunger around the world. The team is coached by head coach Mark Buesing and assistant coaches Brian Twadell and Matt Condron.
Action Against Hunger thanks the Libertyville High School Wildcat runners for their remarkable efforts to help fight global hunger and malnutrition!
